Busy, busy, busy

It has been a long time since I posted here, I finally went out and took pictures of the Armory Arts Village where I now reside. It's about time I know. There is always something happening here at the village with all the artists living and working together. And I have been very busy working on new bead sets and focals while taking care of some much needed dental issues. OK now I have a dentist, my dog has a vet; I guess it's time for me to find a doctor haha.

Here are some pictures of the artist village where I live and I have uploaded some new beadsets on my website.

take care, Lois

Happy Mothers Day Everyone!!

Well here it is after 10:30pm on Sunday night and I never took those pictures that I said I was going to take. But that's how life is, you make plans and then life happens when you least expect it. I ended up doing paperwork until about 3 am this morning and then got up at 8 am and kept working on all this 'paperwork'; the necessary but tedious work of any business.

It was a cold dreary day here, it has been raining since I woke up and it is still raining here in Michigan and it's been cold comparatively speaking anyway. But it's nice and cozy here in my apartment and I have Flutter (my cocker spaniel) right next to me.

I actually got allot done but didn't take any time to rest. Anyway, hope that you had a good weekend and I will be back later1

May 10, 2008

Today was a beautiful day here in Michigan, nice and cool with sunshine all day long. It was a long difficult winter after moving up north during the cold winter months, but now the moving is done and it's beautiful here! I live in an artists community where we live and work together, sharing community space, studio space as well as the beautiful gallery. The gallery opened up last week and we have had alot of people coming through including children from an arts outreach program. I feel so grateful to be living here with other artists and also being close to my sister in a nearby town. I have been busy making new beads and will start making new jewelry pieces next week when my shipment arrives from Rio Grande. I will have to go out and take some pictures of this complex---that will certainly pique some interest because this used to be a prison. The Armory Arts Project is now officially opened with artists buzzing about throughout the day and art everywhere! It's great to walk outside or through the halls inside and hear drums, opera, and guitar, while watching people paint, airbrush, or do lampwork. What a wonderful place to live! I will go out and take my faithful companion Flutterbye for a little and walk and see if I can get some decent pictures, then I will post them so that all of you can see what it's like here. But I have to do this quickly because the Sulky's are trotting out on the race track and I have to go get my daily fill of equine pleasure. Talk to you later, hope that all of you have a great day.
